Even a plant can ambush, as this hapless forest dweller discovers. Seized around the arms and neck without warning by an extendable tendril vine, the young man was dragged to the pitcher plant. Fighting frantically, he was enveloped to his armpits and held tight as the bell's rim swelled to grip him. The man's struggles only hastened his immobilization, draining the oxygen held with him, until he passes out and falls limply in the plant's grip. Now it can finish consuming the young man at its leisure.
